Insurance and Payment
For the convenience of our patients, we participate with many insurance companies. We may not participate in all the plans offered by a company, and both doctors may not participate in every plan.
It is your responsibility as a member of any insurance plan to understand what is covered by your policy. The insurance market is very complicated and changing all the time, making it impossible for our staff to know the details of your coverage simply by looking at your insurance card. To ensure that you are receiving the full benefit to which you are entitled, please research your coverage before the day of your appointment.
Please be aware that coverage for medical eye problems and for routine vision care is not the same. Therefore, you may need to ask your insurance carrier and your primary care physician about your coverage for both of these situations prior to your child's eye exam.
Payment is expected at the time of service. If you are using insurance coverage with which we participate, we will submit your claim to your insurance company. Your co-pay, if any, is due at the time of service.
If we do not participate with your insurance plan, your payment is expected at the end of your visit. We will provide you with a copy of your receipt, which you may attach to your claim form prior to submitting it. All insurance companies accept these receipts, or "superbills", as the physician's portion of your claim. You will be reimbursed directly for your contracted amount under your plan.
